November #2

Warmth, the cold way

The November sky is an expression of the space where mundane realities meet with faraway glories. No other sky is as deceptive. No other sky is so close and so far.

Rays of claret red are magnified as they pass through the grainy chill. Warm lights mix and dance in the foggy play of droplets. For a brief moment we become eternal. Some things are muted. The inner voice is cleaned from noise. The last miles home are sweetened in the afterglow of orange and purple.

November spends a frosty glow and glows a haunting warmth. Enshrouded in a cloak of mist, the city floats. Shortlived gusts of wind usher hopes through the streets, chasing after worries. In this game of equals November rains on both in disbelief.

Crystal figures, some good, some evil, invite you to hang on and fall in love. The days grow shorter. The struggle stretches longer. November has to deal with the witnesses of the year, sent loose from the trees during Autumn. Ghostlike, they jiggle and moan and shimmer with surrealistic clarity.

Who can keep from recognizing the signatures of comfort rising from the city´s chimneys? Nobody wants to be without it in the thick of the looming White. Yet many can do without it. Some go, some stay. The brave birds stay anyhow. Because the art of shelter can best be contrived once December has arrived.

You have so many things to tell about November...your month. How nicely and wisely expressed.

I never tought that the sky in Germany would be like that...for me snow and winter always had sound sad and boring...I´ve seen snow once in Argentina, I was 15 and it looks magic for me...
But I still prefer summer and a shining sun! :-) Winter in Rio is boring... maybe because the city is not made for cold and rainy days... cariocas like to stay outside and it´s curious how people disappear from the streets when it is rainning... the only bad thing about summer are those mosquitos who are eating me alive right now...

Hey, I forgot: take a shot of this november sky!

very sensible article..vry meaningful indeed..

Thanks for your notes.
