On the surface of it, the world seems to be OK.

Context: Surface graphics

graphic design, print, shufflesome, stickers

In May 2005 I produced a first series of skins designed for users of iPod shuffle. My focus was initially only on this particular digital audio player. Along the way of growing the collection of designs, I found myself expanding into the business-to-business realm, producing for Coca-Cola, Unilever, a hearing aid firm, a mobile phone firm, and others. By placing this project into a much broader context of surface graphics, I do two things: First, acknowledge the manyfold applications of adhesive foils. Second, expand the perspective from fitting graphics onto products to building applications around graphics.

“We see graphics on the toothbrush we use in the morning, on the coffee mug from breakfast, on the iPod we listen to on the way to school, and on the cushion we sit on during evening TV time.” — Excerpt from the book Graphics Alive
